Sinner or Winner: Former Oxford Circus Preacher, Philip Howard, Oxford Circus, Last year, October 2005

I am posting this shot, taken last year in October, from my archive because of two reasons
Firstly; I didn’t hold my camera for while as I have been so busy during last four weeks with my research
Secondly; if you pass Oxford Circus you won’t see Oxford Circus preacher anymore; to tell you, don’t be a sinner; be a winner.
Unfortunately Phil was forced to leave his preaching by council few months ago in May 2006; you know why; if you say "Don't be a shop-o-holic robot" in fornt of Nike Town; YOU ARE A SINNER

This sanctamonious creep annoyed everyone and I was glad when they gave him the ASBO. How arrogant and presumptuous to assume that everyone except himself is a blind consumer and 'sinner'. He is the worst kind of Christian, and therefore not a Christian at all.
Unfortunately he is back there again. While he annoys less people without the megaphone, now he invades your personal space and you can smell the pious belligerence of his breath as he launches a verbal assualt in your face.

I miss the guy, simply as he was part of the background of London. I'm a sound artist and I recorded a few samples from his 'sermons'. He even allowed me to record a specifically concocted message for me.

I'm now putting a number of old recordings on my website, including my street preacher series. Is it okay for me to use this image as backdrop? I'll fully credit, of course.

I'm working on the website and the image will appear in the next few days. if you're not happy, it'll come right down.

Thanks in advance!
